The Hanna Lab in the Department of Immunology at Genentech is seeking a highly talented, driven and motivated Scientist 3 to investigate novel biological mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets to treat inflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will lead projects that advance our understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of T cell biology, with a main emphasis on harnessing immunoregulatory mechanisms for reestablishing immune and tissue homeostasis under inflammatory conditions.
The Opportunity
Lead innovative research projects focused on understanding cellular and molecular mechanisms of T cell biology and immunoregulatory pathways.
Drive pipeline programs from discovery toward early clinical development by generating robust proof-of-concept data.
Design and execute experiments using state-of-the-art technologies, including primary cell isolation, multi-dimensional flow cytometry, and complex disease models.
Explore novel biological pathways to identify and validate new therapeutic targets for inflammatory diseases.
Collaborate cross-functionally with team members across human genetics, biomarker discovery, and early clinical development.
Present research findings regularly at intra- and inter-departmental meetings, fostering an open and inquisitive scientific culture.
Who You Are
You hold a PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with a strong track record of research achievement in the form of high-quality publications
You possess hands-on expertise in cellular and molecular immunology techniques, including primary cell isolation, multi-dimensional flow cytometry, in vitro immunological assays, and in vivo animal models.
You have experience independently designing, executing, and interpreting complex scientific experiments.
You bring strong communication and collaborative skills, thriving in an open, team-oriented laboratory environment.
