Job Summary
The Security Coordinator ensures seamless access to GAF Headquarters for employees, contractors, vendors, service personnel, and visitors. Responsibilities include managing the Visitor Management System (SV3), troubleshooting technology issues, and coordinating with vendors like Building Intelligence and Plugout to resolve access challenges. The role oversees symptom monitoring kiosks, implements contingency plans during tech failures, and maintains access control logs. Additional duties include managing the Genetec access control system, generating reports, training employees and contracted guards on access procedures, managing the GAF Receptionist and contracted guard force, developing guard Post Orders, and assisting in the development and review of Access Control SOPs.
Essential Duties
Ensures the unimpeded access of all individuals, employees, contractors, vendors, service personnel, and visitors to the GAF HQs.
Operates and overall manages the Visitor Management System in the SV3 software system. Ensures employees can access the system and schedule a visitor. Troubleshoots and resolves all issues related to employee problems using the system and technology failures.
Acts as the primary point of contact to the main vendors associated with access control and visitor management--Building Intelligence and Plugout. Works with the vendors to develop acceptable solutions to technology issues.
Maintains a master log of all access control issues and resolutions implemented.
Implements established contingency plans for access control in the event of a technology failure.
Acts as the primary interface with employees for access requests and general difficulties entering the HQs.
Develops reports associated with access control, badging issues, and resolutions.
Is the primary operator for the Genetec access control software system. Review individual profiles to determine issues, implement fixes, grant access when approved, and print new access control cards. Troubleshot camera and door reader issues at the plants as needed.
Conducts employee training on access control and visitor management as needed.
Manages the GAF Receptionist. Ensure the receptionist is well-trained to assist visitors and employees. Oversee the receptionist duties and functions.
Manages and trains the contracted guard force on all access control procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and contingencies.
Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the GAF HQs Access Control SOP. Periodically review and make recommendations as needed.
Maintains guard force Post Orders.
Qualifications Required
A four-year college degree preferred
3-5 years of relevant experience required Required
Operator level experience with Genetec access control software particularly in access control, card holder management, access rights and troubleshooting skills Required
Must be available to respond to the HQs during contingencies.
Must be able to answer calls from the guard force at non-working hours.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications Preferred
Experience managing a guard force, implementing access control measures, working with CCTV security cameras, and operating and troubleshooting a security platform software such as Genetec or a similar system.
Enhanced experience using and troubleshooting SV3 visitor management software Preferred
Operator experience with Genetec access control software, particularly in access control, cardholder management, access rights, and troubleshooting skills, is preferred
Exceptional customer/client management skills with the desire to meet the needs of each client
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent supervisory skills
Ability to generate reports and statistics related to access control.
Strong organizational skills, including prioritization, time management, and follow-up
Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
Demonstrated ability to support multiple recruiters simultaneously
Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
