Position Summary:
This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution that supports the strategic outcomes of the Business' Products and Services. Key responsibilities include defining the target operating environment, designing for client resiliency, assisting with solution design, and defining non-functional requirements. Job expectations include working with stakeholders and service providers aligned to the Business' strategic objectives, evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions, and contributing to the architecture roadmap.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Architecture direction and support for organizations in Global Operations Technology, Shared Solutions, and Client Data Platforms
- Working across teams to ensure visibility to ongoing and upcoming deliverables, strategies, and tactical approaches
- Mapping out plans for horizontal components that can be leveraged throughout GOTSSCDP
- Analyzing new technology and determining best fit for the bank
- Helping define the direction of GOTSSCDP architecture for the next decade
- Deliver high quality architecture solutions for large multi-generational programs spanning one or more business domains to support organizational missions
- Adhere to and help create enterprise principles and standards based on industry best practices
- Work on multiple projects utilizing waterfall and agile methodologies to provide target-state solutions that best fit the business requirements and align to enterprise goals
- Create and maintain the target application architecture and blueprints along with strategic roadmaps
- Maintain reference architecture and defines shared application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools
- Works across the business, operations and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision for complex solutions and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements into a technology backlog to enable the technology roadmap and functionality to support evolving capabilities and services
- Contributes to the creation of the architecture roadmap of defined domains (Business, Application, Data, and Technology) in support of the product roadmap and the development of best practices including standardized templates
- Clarifies the architecture, assists with system design to support implementation, and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
- Facilitates solution driven discussions, leads the design of complex architectures, and finds creative solutions through knowledge of domain, practical experiments, and proof of concepts while ensuring architecture is flexible, modular, and adaptable
- Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions
- Supports the team as needed to select the technology stack required for solutions and helps select preferred technology products
- Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in developing technology solutions, of which 5+ years in Architecture
- Academic education in Technology/Engineering disciplines, or equivalent experience
- Proficient in defining solutions to solve large scale, complex business problems with high resiliency, scalability, performance, and concurrency requirements
- Proficient in researching and understanding new technology solutions and present essential comparisons, pros/cons, and target use cases
- Adept at IT operations, Agile Methodology, Software Development Lifecycle, and Systems Architectures
- Proficient in collaborating with business and technical resources to understand and develop solutions that meet business requirements, translating strategy and objectives when necessary

- Proficient in leading discussions in a matrix environment focusing on team and organizational success
- Proficient in representing architecture in various architecture forums within the enterprise

Desired Qualifications:
- Background in public cloud design and implementation (AWS/Azure).
- Experience with Terraform (infrastructure as code)
- Experience with AI concepts regarding agentic, deterministic and model based learning
- Hands on prototyping based on AI-assisted agents (CoPilot, Claude, Opus)
- Background in Global Operations, Shared Services, Data, Analytics, or Solution Architecture domains.
- Experience with regulatory, risk, and compliance-driven initiatives.
- Familiarity with enterprise tools such as JIRA
- Software design and development experience in modern programming languages
