Senior Engineer II, Field Process

Job Mission

As a Senior Engineer II, Field Process, you will be responsible for driving advanced process development, optimization, and integration activities at ASM’s semiconductor manufacturing customers. Working closely with customers, internal business units, and engineering teams, you will play a key role in solving complex technical challenges, improving process performance, and supporting successful product adoption.

Your expertise will contribute directly to customer satisfaction, technology advancement, and ASM’s continued growth in key semiconductor applications.

 

What You Will Be Working On

• Develop and optimize advanced thin-film deposition processes to meet customer requirements and product specifications.
• Lead technical activities for process development projects at customer sites, ensuring high-quality execution and successful outcomes.
• Support new product introductions, process qualifications, and technology transfers.
• Investigate process, hardware, and integration issues and drive effective corrective actions.
• Analyze experimental and production data to identify trends, improve performance, and solve complex technical problems.
• Independently manage process development plans, experiments, and troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with customers, Business Units, and cross-functional teams to define process requirements and implementation strategies.
• Support customer escalations and contribute to root cause investigations and resolution plans.
• Maintain technical documentation, reports, and application performance tracking.
• Identify opportunities to improve process capability, productivity, yield, and tool performance.
• Participate in customer discussions regarding process roadmaps, application development, and future technology requirements.
• Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to less experienced engineers when required.

 

 

What We Are Looking For

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience in thin-film deposition technologies and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• Experience with ALD, PEALD, CVD, PECVD, Epitaxy, Furnace, or related semiconductor process technologies is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to independently lead technical investigations, process development, and customer support activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex technical challenges.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Good communication skills in both Japanese and English, including the ability to present technical findings clearly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment while following all safety requirements and PPE protocols.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
