Job description
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Technology to lead a high-performing engineering team within the Tax & Accounting area. This leader will be responsible for driving business results through strong technical leadership, operational excellence, and close partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
The role requires a leader who can combine strategic thinking, technical depth, and people leadership to help evolve the organization's technology capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring experience leading teams through modern software engineering transformation, including cloud adoption, AI-enabled ways of working, and scalable engineering practices, while maintaining a strong focus on customer value, delivery quality, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic and Technical Leadership
Lead the Technology team to achieve business outcomes and deliver value aligned with organizational priorities.
Drive the adoption and evolution of modern software engineering practices, cloud architecture, and Generative AI capabilities.
Provide strong technical leadership by guiding the team on how to execute effectively in technology, being hands-on when necessary.
Contribute to the roadmap and execution strategy for Tax & Accounting products.
Promote a transformation mindset, challenging the status quo and helping the organization evolve toward more efficient and scalable ways of working.
2. Delivery Excellence
Ensure high-quality, high-speed software delivery with a strong focus on customer experience and business impact.
Establish and reinforce modern engineering practices such as:
Continuous Integration
Continuous Testing
Trunk-Based Development
Progressive Delivery
Visual Management
WIP Control
Small Batch Delivery
Drive both effectiveness (doing the right things) and efficiency (doing things the right way).
Build a benchmark technology operation focused on consistency, quality, and speed.
3. Technical Excellence
Lead the implementation and continuous evolution of a loosely coupled cloud architecture.
Promote and strengthen engineering standards across:
Cloud-native development
FinOps practices
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
Monitoring and observability
Incident management
Capacity planning
Security and resilience
Ensure the team operates according to high technical standards and industry best practices.
4. High-Performance People Management
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of approximately 10 to 15 professionals.
Foster an environment of:
Accountability
Ownership
Psychological safety
Belonging and retention
Learning and continuous improvement
Clear communication
Active mentoring and talent development
Drive performance management and succession development, with an emphasis on building future leaders.
5. Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Build strong, lasting partnerships with key stakeholders across:
Product
Business
Customer Support / CS
Other Technology Business Units
Navigate a complex stakeholder environment and ensure technology efforts remain aligned with business priorities and customer needs.
Act as a trusted technology partner capable of influencing decisions and driving alignment across functions.
6. Focus on Operational Efficiency
Drive continuous optimization of processes, team capacity, and delivery models.
Ensure smart resource allocation and maximize return on investment.
Promote a practical, results-oriented mindset focused on "doing more with less" without compromising quality or team health.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Professional English proficiency is required.
Significant experience in technology leadership roles, including experience managing engineering teams.
Strong background in software development and solution architecture.
Demonstrated experience with modern software engineering practices and engineering transformation.
Experience leading teams in environments that have already adopted or are actively scaling AI-enabled practices.
Strong experience working with cloud technologies and modern distributed systems.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and partner effectively with business and product leaders.
Experience leading teams in fast-changing, ambiguous, or evolving environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Tax & Accounting, enterprise platforms, or similarly complex product environments.
Exposure to GenAI adoption, engineering productivity transformation, and operational scale initiatives.
Experience implementing or leading FinOps, SRE, and engineering efficiency programs.
