At Objective, we create software that makes a difference. Our solutions help governments deliver better services and support stronger communities across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Planning & Building Solutions team and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our platform into a modern, AWS-hosted SaaS solution.

Reporting to the Development Manager, this is an individual contributor role with no people management responsibilities.

- Build and maintain scalable systems, APIs and web applications.
- Refactor legacy code to improve performance and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot product and customer issues.
- Write clean, reliable and well-tested code.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, product owners and technical writers.
- Help improve our development, testing and delivery processes.
What you’ll bring:
You’ll bring:
- At least three years’ experience in full-stack software development.
- Strong experience with Typescript.
- Experience with React, Angular or other modern JavaScript framework.
- Experience with SQL Server, relational databases and RESTful APIs.
- Exposure to AWS or another cloud platform.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD and automated testing.
- A practical understanding of scalable and maintainable software design.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Experience with SaaS products, NoSQL databases, Docker or Kubernetes would be an advantage.
Why Objective?
You’ll join a supportive team working on products that have a genuine impact on communities. We lead with trust, encourage curiosity and give our people the opportunity to contribute ideas, take ownership and continue developing their skills.
If you do not tick every box, do not let that stop you. We value potential, learning agility, coachability and diverse perspectives just as much as experience, and we encourage you to apply.
At Objective, we recognise and celebrate our diverse team as pivotal to our strong employee engagement and our high-performing culture, underpinned by Our Values.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on any protected characteristics or on any other basis prohibited by applicable laws in the regions where we operate.
