Job Description:
We are Omnissa!
Omnissa is the first AI-driven digital work platform, built to support flexible, secure, work-from anywhere experiences. We integrate industry-leading solutions—including Unified Endpoint Management, Virtual Apps and Desktops, Digital Employee Experience, and Security & Compliance—into a seamless, autonomous workspace that adapts to how people work. Our platform boosts employee engagement while optimizing IT operations, security, and cost.
Guided by our Core Values—Act in Alignment, Build Trust, Foster Inclusiveness, Drive Efficiency, and Maximize Customer Value—we’re growing rapidly and committed to delivering meaningful impact. If you're passionate about shaping the future of work, we’d love to hear from you.
At Omnissa, we are committed to maintaining a fair, consistent, and secure hiring process for all candidates. As part of this approach, we use standard interview and verification practices designed to ensure alignment and protect both candidates and the organization. These practices are applied thoughtfully and with respect for candidate privacy.
As a Staff Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building large-scale distributed systems and platform services that power our core platform. This role goes beyond feature development—you will own system design, performance, scalability, and operational excellence of critical services. You will work on high-throughput, low-latency systems, solving complex problems in data processing, service orchestration, and reliability engineering, while influencing architectural direction and engineering best practices across teams.
What will you do?
Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems using Go, with a strong focus on reliability, observability, and efficiency.
Own end-to-end architecture and system design, including service decomposition, data modeling, API design, and inter-service communication patterns.
Drive performance optimization initiatives across services (CPU, memory, I/O, network), and identify bottlenecks using profiling and observability tools.
Troubleshoot complex production issues, including distributed system failures, latency spikes, and resource contention across multi-service environments.
Build and operate systems leveraging Kafka, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and caching layers (Redis/Valkey) for high-scale workloads.
Design and operate services in containerized environments (Docker) orchestrated via Kubernetes or HashiStack (Nomad/Consul/Vault).
Collaborate with Product, SRE, and Security teams to ensure resilient, secure, and production-ready solutions.
Contribute to and drive engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
Participate in full software lifecycle ownership: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
Champion DevOps and “You build it, you run it” culture, including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
What will you bring to Omnissa?
Strong programming expertise in Go, with deep understanding of concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning.
Extensive experience building distributed systems and microservices architectures at scale.
Strong understanding of system design principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency models, and trade-offs.
Deep knowledge of Linux systems, including processes, networking stack, file systems, and performance diagnostics.
Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration using Kubernetes or HashiStack (Nomad, Consul, Vault).
Strong experience with event-driven and data-intensive systems using Apache Kafka.
Experience with databases and storage systems, including PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and caching systems like Redis.
Solid experience with cloud platforms, preferably Amazon Web Services, including managed services (MSK, Aurora, OpenSearch).
Proven ability to analyze and optimize system performance, including profiling, benchmarking, and capacity planning.
Strong troubleshooting skills across application, infrastructure, and network layers.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
8–12+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend systems and distributed architectures
