JOB DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for creating highly accurate, bottom-up parametric and deterministic cost models for commercial aircraft machined parts.
- Analyze and assess current processes in manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain settings, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Visit manufacturer and supplier facilities to analyze actual assembly line efficiencies, cycle times, and material waste margins.
- Participated in and assist with supplier selection, including participating in IPT teams by conducting technical variances reviews between vendor bids and internal should-cost expectations to identify optimization opportunities
- Participate in and assist with the sourcing of new business into the supply chain.
- Lead cross-site efforts for supplier development, supplier improvement plans and risk management.
- Provide process improvement support in production delivery, quality, productivity, and other continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Proven track record of translating complex technical realities into clear financial impacts for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Commodities involved could be but not limited to: machining, transducers, resolvers, wire harnesses, electronics, and electronic enclosures. Must be familiar with and understand standards associated drawings related to these commodities.
- Become familiar with and adhere to Commercial AG (CAG) Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) standard processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in the field of manufacturing/operations or engineering; or a Bachelors degree in another field plus demonstrated exceptionally technical skills and knowledge to be effective in this position.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience (usually post-education) in the field of Manufacturing, Engineering and/or Quality with hands-on exposure to advanced manufacturing methods.
- Proven experience in managing complex vendor relationships and cost management.
- Proven specific capabilities in understanding and communicating the technical aspects of the goods and services procured and abilities to form and lead teams.
- Blueprint reading and understanding of material specifications and secondary operations.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) along with complex metallic processing, chemical processing, and advanced composite layups.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- MS Office skills required. Demonstrated ability to create spreadsheets complete complex analysis.
- Presentation skills and ability to present to customers, suppliers and at internal meetings.
- Desirable qualifications would include: Black Belt and/or Six Sigma certified, Lean Certification, J-Std-001, IPC- 610, Supply Chain Management, CNC programming experience and Special Processing knowledge.
