Job Summary: The POS Systems Engineer III is responsible to support and enhance application software within the Radiant environment including POS peripherals. Investigate and perform root cause analysis of application software faults. Facilitate issue escalation to internal and external subject matter experts as appropriate.

Principal Duties:
- Lead and participate in project deliverables including technical specification documents and standard operating procedures. Develop project plans, review and gain approval. Provide team leads and project manager work effort and duration estimates; Ensure developed application adhere to technical specifications. Report status and ensure IT standards and methodology are met.
- Lead the initial investigation of software; document system requirements; help evaluate technologies, their capabilities and make recommendations; perform gap analysis between business needs and the technology capabilities; design systems architecture; and develop and execute test scripts.
- Translate complex Functional Specifications to detailed Technical Designs. Develop solutions for complex enhancements.
- Develop unit test plans. Debug components. Provide testing expertise and experience to junior associates. Review and provide input into user acceptance test plans as appropriate.
- Establish a performance baseline. Monitor system performance and tune for peak performance.
- Develop technical components; serve as an expert in technical field of knowledge. Develop support documentation for any modified or developed components.
- Follow standard development and transport processes. Provide guidance on standards to junior associates.
- Engage the Systems Management team to establish the appropriate security model for any new enhancements or changes.
- Lead the implementation and testing of new system management software (i.e., OS, Database) and lead work streams associated with larger projects.
- Lead the planning and execution of end-to-end testing, coach team members on development and testing best practices.
- Lead requirements gathering tasks. Analyze requirements for system enhancements and modifications, and defines go forward options. Includes documentation of requirements, research and analysis of options. Make solution recommendation. Manage the day to day software design, follow project progress and report status to project management.
- Support store technology, processes as well as proof of concept and pilot testing initiatives.
- Provide operational support by investigation, documentation and resolution of technology issues, and provide guidance to junior associates as an escalation point.
- Coordinate with other IT departments in the execution of system reboots; maintenance, upgrades/implementations, system and data restorations, mass data changes and system cleanup. Investigate and remedy the root cause of service delivery incidents.
- Develop and maintain processes and procedures and standard operating procedures to IT departments as appropriate. Develop support schedules.
- Provide coaching to other team members; Work with project manager to identify opportunities to build teamwork. Coordinate and conduct team cross-training.
- Lead work streams within the workgroup and cross functional initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience preferred
- 7+ years of related work experience including 5 to 7 years of POS Experience
- Exposure to infrastructure design, implementation, support and management solutions
- Knowledge of standard support development frameworks and methodologies
- Fluent on overall POS configurations, deployments and modules including Tiger and EPC3
- Fluent in all Radiant tools for researching and tracking issues.
- Certified Radiant Support Analyst
- Fluent with all critical nightly batch processes
- Fluent with eXcellenet
- Fluent in Microsoft Office
- Fluent in all appropriate debugging and performance analysis tools
