Veterinarian | Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Clinton Hill | Brooklyn, NY
Love the medicine and variety of urgent care, but ready for more predictable hours?
Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Clinton Hill is looking for an experienced veterinarian to join our busy Brooklyn hospital. You’ll care for a varied mix of patients, build lasting relationships with clients, and work alongside doctors and support staff who enjoy practicing medicine together.
Clinton Hill provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats, from wellness and preventive visits to sick appointments and daytime urgent care. Our doctors typically see 16–18 pets per day in 30-minute appointments. This is an active, appointment-driven practice. We’re looking for a doctor who enjoys a full schedule, sees a dynamic caseload as a positive part of the job, and maintains excellent patient care and client communication throughout the day.
We would especially love to meet a veterinarian with emergency or urgent care experience who enjoys that work but is looking for daytime hours without overnight shifts or on-call duties. We’re also open to experienced doctors from other clinical backgrounds who would thrive in this setting.
A team you’ll want to be part of
Our doctors have built a collaborative team where they can discuss cases, share ideas, and rely on one another. They value excellent medicine, respectful communication, and strong partnerships with the technicians, assistants, and client service representatives who help care for our patients and clients.
You’ll thrive here if you’re confident in your clinical judgment, approachable with clients and colleagues, and energized by working with people throughout the day. We’re looking for someone who engages with the support team, welcomes different perspectives, communicates directly and constructively, and contributes positively to the hospital’s culture.
Client relationships are central to the role. Our ideal doctor explains recommendations clearly, helps pet owners feel heard, and delivers compassionate, individualized care even on a busy day.
The medicine you’ll practice
You’ll see a broad mix of preventive care, sick visits, and daytime urgent care cases. The hospital also offers dentistry and surgery. Surgery is not required for this position, though opportunities to perform routine procedures are available if you’re interested.
Clinton Hill is equipped with ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray, in-house diagnostics, therapeutic laser, EKG, and echocardiogram. You’ll work with a 3:1 support-staff-to-doctor ratio, giving you a team to partner with as you manage cases and care for clients.
A schedule with room for life outside work
This is a 32–36-hour position across four shifts per week, including rotating Saturdays, with no on-call duties or holiday work. Clinton Hill is open six days a week and closed on Sundays. For a veterinarian who enjoys the pace and variety of urgent care, this role offers the chance to continue that work within a predictable daytime practice schedule.
