Sparkfund is the utility services company unlocking capacity on the grid. Through its Distributed Capacity Procurement (DCP) model, Sparkfund enables utilities, energy majors, and large-load customers to deploy front-of-the-meter batteries and gensets as distribution infrastructure. By adding targeted capacity exactly where and when the grid needs it most, DCP helps meet demand, support reliability, and put downward pressure on rates. Sparkfund supports program design, grid value assessment, asset host engagement, and value chain management to ensure on-time, on-budget deployment with maximum system value and lowest cost.
With more than 3,200 projects deployed across 43 states and more than 300MW of energized assets constructed, Sparkfund is transforming customer-sited assets into a valuable portfolio resource for the benefit of our society. To learn more about Sparkfund, visit sparkfund.com.

Sparkfund is looking for a Vice President, Electric Cooperative Markets to own our strategy, positioning, and executive-level relationships across the electric cooperative market and build a meaningful pipeline of Distributed Capacity Procurement opportunities.
This is a strategic individual-contributor role with significant autonomy and enterprise-level influence. While the role does not have direct people-management responsibility, it will represent Sparkfund externally at the executive level and materially influence how we prioritize opportunities, partnerships, and resources across the electric cooperative market.
You will leverage and expand an established network of electric cooperative executives, general managers, board members, and industry leaders to create senior-level access and identify opportunities where Sparkfund can deliver meaningful value. You will work closely with senior commercial leaders to shape account strategy and advance opportunities through proposal development and negotiation, transitioning final deal ownership as opportunities reach the contracting stage.
Success in this role means building a clear and defensible electric cooperative market strategy, materially expanding Sparkfund’s executive-level relationships across the cooperative ecosystem, and creating measurable pipeline influence that converts into signed DCP programs.
Our values shape how we work, make decisions, and show up for our customers and each other. They are also part of how we evaluate success at Sparkfund.
Excellence
We hold ourselves to high standards and continuously look for ways to improve.
Stewardship
We take ownership, follow through on our commitments, and make thoughtful decisions with the long term in mind.
Positivity
We approach challenges constructively, assume positive intent, support one another, and bring solutions.
Market Strategy Ownership
You can set and evolve strategy for an entire market segment, translate changing market conditions into action, and make clear decisions about where the organization should focus.
Executive Relationship Building
You build trust with C-suite, general manager, and board-level stakeholders and can credibly represent Sparkfund as a senior leader in a relationship-driven market.
Cross-Functional Influence
You can align teams around an opportunity and drive progress without relying on direct reporting authority.
Collaborative Account Strategy
You know how to work alongside senior commercial leaders, bring critical market context and judgment into the deal process, and remain actively involved without needing to own every stage of the transaction.
Enterprise Judgment
You operate with significant autonomy, understand when to involve executive leadership, and can advise the business on market priorities and resource allocation with limited day-to-day direction.
The expected base pay scale for this role spans from $195,000 to $225,000 per year. Individual placement within the pay band depends on prior experience, technical capabilities, core competencies, positional scope, internal alignment, and related business factors.
Where applicable, this position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Any such compensation is separate from base salary and is not guaranteed. Eligibility, amounts, and payment are subject to applicable plan terms, company performance, individual performance, and other business considerations.
